Drawing from the novels The Concrete Blonde and The Burning Room, the seventh and final season of Bosch will have Harry Bosch and Jerry Edgar pursuing two separate but perilous murder investigations that will take them to the highest levels of white collar crime and the deadly depths of the street level drug trade.

The sixth season of Bosch will premiere later this year on Amazon Prime Video. Look for the seventh season in 2021.

“I’m proud of what we have accomplished with Bosch and look forward to completing the story in season 7. It’s bittersweet but all good things come to an end and I am happy that we will be able to go out the way we want to. This started seven years ago with showrunner Eric Overmyer and me writing the pilot. We plan to write the last episode together as well. We’ll leave behind the longest running show so far on Amazon and it will be there to be discovered by new viewers for as long as people are streaming. That is amazing to me. The other thing is that we would not have come all this way without Titus Welliver. There could not have been a better actor to play this role or a better team player to build this show around. He’ll be Harry Bosch for the ages.”

I am heartbroken to see that the seventh season will be the final.
But I am grateful for seven fabulous years.
Amazon has been very fortunate to have Bosch!

I agree with Jeannie that I am sad to see the end of this iteration but am very happy for what has been provided.
I think 70 episodes of Bosch is much better than a few movies.
Thank you to Michael Connelly for all the hard work he put into the TV series over these years!

If I recall correctily, Bosch was the first or part of a small group of first original series produced by Amazon.  It is the main reason I became an Amazon Prime member.  Amazon has since catapulted to become the only real competitor for Netflix and is at the top of the field.  Bosch is one of the reasons that Amazon Prime Video was able to get a foothold in the overwhelmingly lucrative streaming industry, by tapping into the built in fan base of Michaeal Connelly's readership.  Bosch keeps getting better and better which is why I am disappointed it is ending, but at least it is going out on top.

Say it ain't so! Bosh is a cult hero, and I consider myself a ranking member of the group. His picture hangs in my home-office. I wear my "Everybody counts" tee shirt everywhere,(except to church). Harry once said that closure is a myth. It's something you put in a box and take out to look at every once in a while. Don't put Harry in a box. But perhaps it's thought that Titus is getting too old for the part. I have a solution for you. Irvin is elected Mayor and appoints Honey Chandler as D.A., J. Edgar becomes a lead detective partnered with Youngblood, and Harry becomes gets a desk job as Police Commissioner, (thus continuing to piss everybody off as he has for all time and why we love him so)! WE WON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

In an old-fashioned police show, a portrayal of true justice

Thank you Jane for posting this interesting article.

I don't know if you can answer this question, but when the Bosch series is wrapped up on Amazon, will MC retain his rights to the Bosch character, allowing the character to appear in other productions, such as the Lincoln Lawyer series, for example?

That could be a silver lining to an otherwise sad development of the ending of the Bosch series.

Jeannie,
Amazon will continue to hold the rights for a few more years after season 7.

Perhaps it would be in Amazon's interests to allow the character to proliferate, which could in turn generate new interest and viewership for their completed Bosch TV series.

But at least it won't be "forever" as it seemed when Paramount owned the rights!
