Mike - I've haven't read anything by Chevy Stevens yet.....have you read this one?

Amazon is also offering another (#3) of the Simeon Grist books by Tim Hallinan for free after previously giving away books #1 and #4. I haven't managed to read any of them yet, but I'm interested in trying one out.

Rockman - Sorry, I had the wrong book in my original post (edited above).  It is her first book, Still Missing, that is $2.99 right now.  I listened to it awhile back and I enjoyed it.  Quite interesting plot!  I do recommend it.

Never Knowing is her second book.  Both are standalones but her third book that is due out in 2013, Always Watching, does have a correlation to the first two books.

mhughes has had positive things to say about some of the books by these guys and here's a chance to try them out for free. Check Amazon for 'Serial' a novella by Jack Kilborn (aka J.A. Konrath) and Blake Crouch.

yeah this is awesome,   its a mix of their characters,  and just a small piece of JA and Blake's work together,   everything from these two guys go together to make one really big piece of work.......  if your going to read serial,   try serial killer uncut,  which includes all of the novella's in this series.

A couple of interesting looking books for free on Amazon. Lynn Kostoff's 'A Choice of Nightmares' which got a rave review by author Charlie Stella. And Jennifer Minar Jaynes debut novel 'Never Smile at Strangers' looks like it might be worth a try.

wow, good deal.  to me, this is where the series really takes off.  the first 2 books were good, but this is the book where Harry becomes someone you really care about.  if you do not have it yet, no excuses now.

That looks really good!

These award-winning Julius Katz mysteries have delighted thousands of fans since first appearing on the pages of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine in 2009. JULIUS KATZ introduced readers to Boston's most brilliant, eccentric and possibly laziest detective, Julius Katz, as well as his sidekick, Archie, a tiny marvel of whizbang computer technology with the heart and soul of a hard-boiled PI. In Julius and Archie's second adventure, ARCHIE'S BEEN FRAMED, the little guy is framed for murder and Julius needs to use all his wits to keep his inimitable assistant out of the slammer.
