1) I hope Pierce keeps the murse. #TeamMurse #TeamPierce

2) Crate and Barrel were in the right. I realize its a fictionalized situation but the actual intersection they filmed at is Clinton and Heliotrope. This is also the intersection that the on scene police officer calls out over the radio after the crash.

Take a look at google maps. Crate and Barrel were traveling northbound on North Heliotrope Drive towards the farmacia which was near the intersection of N. Heliotrope and Melrose Avenue. Powers' vehicle was traveling westbound on Clinton Street. Google street view clearly shows that the black and white would have had a stop sign whereas there is none on North Heliotrope. The fact that they impacted the side of the unmarked car further underscores that Powers' vehicle was at fault.

Again, I know for plot purposes it was an equal fault accident but my boys C&B were 100% in the right. Just sayin'.

Agreed on both fronts.
I couldn't believe LT told Pierce to lose the murse.

I think the show wanted to begin some discussions about retirement for Crate and Barrel so this was the plot device to make that happen. They were totally in the right.
I feel like that by this point in the books Bosch had already been into and out of retirement, so some of that discussion is moving to Crate and Barrel so Bosch can maintain his youth.
Real life concerns in police departments across the country.

AWWWW....I binge watched last night until episode 5, will watch the rest tonight.  but C&B are such a nice side-view to the series, I would hate to see them leave.  Is the LAPD so narrow minded as shown on this show?  I know MC has a lot of police experience (real life) and I also understand that not all cops are good guys (the show 'blue bloods' makes my stomach turn)but turning C&B against each other and separating and deleting them...nahhh...don't do it!  (altho I know that what is done is done.) and I can't believe Maddie was so stupid as to divulge info to a young man in her office, when her dad told her never to discuss what they discuss between them (dad and daughter).  she knows better.  she is portrayed and written as bright, insightful and sensitive.  how could she do that?  and what will be the ramifications of it?  this season is not as good as the prevous seasons.

Don't go trashing my Blue Bloods now...lol...Partners stay pretty loyal to their partners, regardless...they are family...they have domestics, just as if it were their better half at home..they kiss and make-up...Maddie knows exactly what she's doing...and she's still young, and cutting her teeth...her dad has taught her well...showing the good, the bad, the ugly...he has not shielded her, which I think is a good thing!  She's strong, determined, and yes opinionated, and may have her own agenda on things (none that would go against her father!)...

It seems like Amazon puts them out about April each year, so unfortunately we're all going to have to wait a year for the next installment.

Andrea, season 6 goes back into production at the end of July or first part of August. It will film into December and then all the post production work happens. It will likely be streaming in March or April of 2020.

reading the books and watching TV versions
This season was based primarily on the book "Two Kinds of Truth" which not so coincidentally were the words Maddie uttered to Harry near the end.

For any book readers: I do not recall the Chief Irving thing where it is suggested he planted the necklace. I'll reread it again.

In any event I did not like Madison Linz cast as Harry's daughter originally, but have grown into her version in the series. She did an excellent job and made me feel quite sorry for inability to get the paternal love and consideration she wanted from Harry.

Oh man, this site should put in big letters "SPOILER ALERT"...I'm on the last episode....(which being able to watch a whole series, shouldn't be possible to do in a two-day period!...i.e. they need more episodes in a season/series)...I'm almost done with all the books....and up until now, there was never a mention of Chief Irving planting the necklace, unless that's going to come-up in another book or two...Like I mentioned in another post, the t.v. show isn't exactly like the books, which I'm actually kind of glad about....so then there's some surprises in the book, and the t.v. show!

My memory is that the book intended to make you question whether or not Harry planted evidence, but when all was said and done Harry was completely exonerated and there was no confession from the serial killer that the evidence had been moved from one place to another to convict him.
I don't believe Irving was mentioned in the book at all.
It is fun that there are differences between the books and the series because even fans of the books get some surprises.

Oh my I am sorry for spoiling it for you :(
I just assumed everyone had watched them all by now since they have been streaming for a couple of weeks now. We have been metering them out slowly... watching one episode every other night.

Aplogies

Vance:
In the book Harry had retired from LAPD and is working as a private investigator. As such he volunteers for the City of San Fernando police department so he can continue to use detective tools and remain a peace officer.
I have not read that last book. Does he remain a PI or is he back with the LAPD?
