Now that a sixth season of 'Bosch' has been confirmed, which book from the series to date do people think Amazon will go with? I hope it's 'The Closers.' Always been top of my list.

Thoughts?

Michael hasn't made that information public yet.

But we can speculate, right?  1-The Crossing 2-The Wrong side of Goodbye 3- Throw in elements of The Drop (leave out Irwin's son's death)

Welll, more evidence that I should not buy lottery tickets or bet on the horses.  It seems that The Overlook will provide the framework for Season 6.  Could be radioactive!

It appears that Daisy Clayton, portrayed by V.I.P. will be in Episode #5.10. I wonder if this means we will get part of Dark Sacred Night in season 6?

Looking forward to The Overlook being adapted. I hope they keep Captain Done Badly in there. I always appreciated how Connelly portrays law enforcement as the good, the bad, and the mediocre. I think S6 has an opportunity to bring some of the post-9/11 critiques we find in the Overlook and use them as a foil for the dedication and single mindedness of Bosch.

Keep Detectives Robinson and Piece! But, lose the annoying Vega. I'm personally not too keen on bringing Renee Ballard into the mix, if that's in the long range plan. Can't say enough good things about Billets and Irving!

There's a 6th season confirmed?  I'm off sick from work, for a couple weeks, so I know I'm going to finish-up season 5 real quickly here...any idea when season 6 starts?  I'm sure not in the real quick present here, but it'd be nice...I'm actually considering going back to Season 1 when I'm done with 5, and rewatching the seasons...the characters have really evolved since Season 1...I could not believe what one of the main characters did on one of the 5th Season episodes!!  I won't give it away, but I actually yelled a the t.v., ooooooooooooh hellllllllllllllllllll noooo!!!!!  Numerous times!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Amazon seems to be making a pattern of releasing the Bosch seasons in April of each year. Season 5 just came out, so we will probably need to wait an entire year for Season 6. I hear that they are just in the writing phase of Season 6 now.

Well, as predicted...I only have two episodes left to watch on Bosch...wish there were more episodes per season...A season can easily be watched in a day!  Ugh!

Think about the clue given in final episode of season 5. Which killed "marked his prey"?

I think it is fair to speculate that season 6 will include Dark Sacred Night because it dove-tails from Two Kinds of Truth, which is fine with me.

Someone also mentioned The Wrong Side of Goodbye.  I sure hope so!  That was one of the best books ever! (They are all good, of course, but I have my favorites.)

I also felt that season 5 seemed to go by really fast, and wish it was longer.
But I am still grateful that Amazon keeps producing the Bosch series year after year.

It is still a mystery to me how they make these decisions because their "box office receipts" are not public.  How do they measure profitability of a show that is part of a large annual subscription? There must be a way, but I am clueless of what that might be.  It could be that because MC has a built-in fan base, they simply measure how many people jump onto the series when it is released each season.  I just hope the seasons keep coming.

Season 6 will pull from a few books including The Overlook and Dark Sacred Night.

So now we may have two important casting decisions.
Who will play Renee Ballard?
Who will play Rachel Walling?

Jeannie,
because of rights issues, it is very possible that neither Ballard or Walling will be in the TV show. Similar to how they had to replace Mickey Haller with Honey Chandler in season 5.  None of this is certain yet but highly likely.

Thanks for the heads up, Jane. This could be good news or less-good news depending on what is happening behind scenes.  Does this mean that a different production company may be planning a movie on Renee Ballard and/or Rachel Walling?  Or does it pertain to construction of rights already parsed out in pre-existing arrangements? Or reserving rights for the future?  I don't mean to be overly inquisitive, but these things interest me.
